FORT WAYNE - When you are a historical society with well over 26,000 artifacts that have been collected in your 92 year history, finding means to easily archive and display everything in your collection can be a challenge. But new software at the History Center is being utilized to alleviate some of the challenges faced in this process.

FORT WAYNE - In a proactive effort to respond faster to emergency 9-1-1 calls that involve missing and sexually exploited children, the Consolidated Communications Partnership of Allen County and Fort Wayne (CCP) has become a 9-1-1 Call Center Partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

FORT WAYNE - On Thursday, Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry presented legendary Fort Wayne Komets broadcaster Bob Chase with a “Key to the Fort” award at a ceremony in the Mayor’s office.
The Key to the Fort goes to individuals who’ve made an extraordinary commitment to the community through a lifetime of stewardship and involvement.

FORT WAYNE - Allen County Assessor Stacey O’Day announced the County’s settlement with General Growth Properties, the owner of the Glenbrook Mall, over property tax assessments which extend over the past decade. 
Glenbrook contested approximately 23 million dollars in property taxes paid from 2002 to the current year.  Those amounts were distributed to the various tax units in Allen County.  In the settlement, the company agreed to relinquish its claim to over 20 million dollars of the nearly 23 million dollars in dispute.  The current assessment for the Glenbrook Mall stores, including the main mall property, is $155,138,000.  The mall owner’s most recent proposed assessment was only $65,000,000, submitted in 2008.
